Lance A. Easterling
Aircrew Instructor
Lance Easterling is an Aircrew instructor for the Sikorsky Training Academy in Jupiter, FL. Lance’s primary goal is to provide exceptional training for SMA’s, crew chiefs and maintainers, ensuring Sikorsky continues to provide instruction designed to bring people home everywhere, every time.
Joining Sikorsky in 2006 Lance has been involved in developing Flight Simulators, Mission Simulator, Hoist trainers, Weapon Trainers, Maintenance Trainers for both Avionics and Mechanical. When not working on simulators he was involved with developing courseware for both Maritime and Non-Maritime Aircrew and Maintenance personnel, Instructing Flight crews in the operation of aircrafts and conducting Flight test engineering.
Prior to joining Sikorsky, Lance served in the United States Navy for 21 years. As a Naval Aircrewman he conducted maritime operation, overland operations and personnel recovery operations. During his time on active duty, he served in the Cold War, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Joint Guard and Iraqi Freedom. He was selected to develop the SeaHawk Weapon Tactics Instructor course at NSAWC home of Top Gun. As an instructor there he was in charge of the high-altitude mountain flying course and developing instructions/courseware for conducting evaluations for qualifying personnel for flight operation, instructing personnel in combat rescue, insert/extraction operations, Ant-submarine Warfare, Helicopter Search Visit Board operations and Surface Search operations.
During his aviation career Lance has accumulated over 5000 flight hours flying in SH3 D/G/H models, SH-60F, HH-60H/W, S76B, CH148, S70B/I and conducted rescues of personnel receiving 4 separate Sikorsky Rescue Awards.
